We are an international company operating in the gaming and software development sector, with a strong presence in Africa and Europe. Our platforms handle millions of transactions daily, and system reliability is absolutely critical. We are looking for a proactive Cloud & Application Monitoring Engineer to join our Barcelona office and take full responsibility for monitoring, performance optimization, and fast incident response.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and application health across AWS (Aurora RDS, EC2, CloudWatch), New Relic, and Cloudflare.
- Identify and resolve anomalies (e.g., query locks, traffic spikes, scraping attempts) in real time.
- Configure and maintain dashboards, alerts, and automated responses.
- Analyze SQL queries and database performance (Aurora MySQL) to detect slow queries and optimize indexes.
- Act as first line of defense for incidents, ensuring fast detection and resolution 24/7 (via on-call rotation or alerting tools).
- Collaborate with DevOps, Developers, and Security teams to implement preventive measures.
- Provide clear reports on incidents and system health to management.
Requirements
- Solid experience with AWS (Aurora RDS, EC2, CloudWatch).
- Hands-on knowledge of APM tools (New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, etc.).
- Experience with Cloudflare (traffic analysis, WAF rules, bot management).
- Strong SQL skills: query optimization, deadlock analysis, index management.
- Background in incident response and real-time troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus).
Nice to Have
- Experience in gaming/iGaming, fintech, or other high-traffic environments.
- Knowledge of automation scripting (Python, Bash, Terraform).
- Familiarity with security monitoring and fraud prevention.
